On Freightliner chassis wth front springs with the rear rubber pads, Ray from Homer passed this onto me that the best way to inspect these pads for tears or rips which are a DOT OOS item, is to lift the bus and support it and then take the weight off the front axle so the springs relax and then you can properly inspect the pads and he is finding normally the left one goes first and it is best to replace these pads in pairs
