Meeting called to order by Central Chapter president Kevin Dattler.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by the president.

Thank you to Superior Lubricates, for sponsorship and refreshments for this meeting.

Reading of the minutes of the Central Chapter, 18 April 2012 meeting were presented for approval. Motion made to accept as read, seconded, and accepted.

Treasures report submitted by treasure Dan Elderbroom and read for approval. Motion made to accept as read, seconded, and accepted.

Old Business; None reported

New Business;
• President Dattler made a motion for the Central Chapter to donate $100.00 in the name of “Red Falcone” one of the founding HMA organizers, to split evenly between the two charities of the family’s choice. Motion was seconded and accepted as presented.
• The HMA state dues are due to be paid, motion made by treasure Dan Elderbroom to pay $825.00 that is due to the state from the membership funds received. Motion was seconded and accepted as presented.
• Elections for the 2012-2013 years for the position of 2nd Vice-president of the Central Chapter, as per the bylaws. Nominations from the floor were requested, Keith Sutliff was nominated with no further nominations received. Motion made for the secretary to cast one ballot for Keith Sutliff, seconded and accepted.

Committees:
• WEB Page: Harlan stated that our history, the president’s form, “The Wrench”, Blue Bird Tech Tips were being added and updated to the web page. If there are any further recommendations to improve this information avenue please contact any chapter officer or Harlan.
• Summer Seminar; Harlan read the list of presenters for the 2012 Summer Seminar and stated that at this time all is ready for the seminar. Meritor has had to drop out and a new presenter is being considered, possible “Bendix”. To date 23 vendors are registered and paid, there is 22 school districts are registered.
• Sick Call; None reported.
• State HMA; Harlan will be going to Albany tomorrow for the regular meeting. He said that there a few items that will be brought to the meeting for consideration, i.e. LED lights, new bus in service inspections, and having the inspector check the lights and find them ok, then on a walk around one that burnt out become a failure. It was noted that Mike Nuber was attending a meeting yesterday on some of the same items and including some considered changes to the regulation.
• DOT; There was no representation at this meeting.

Vendor Information;
• Leonard Buses, Rob noted that there is valve recalls that just come in and when more information is received he will follow up. Wheel Chair that did not conform to the Federal regulations of not being able to move with the lift deployed was and can be repaired and handled by their service department.
• Don Brown Sales, Dan advised that he is the new central New York representative Albany to Buffalo and North Country to Binghamton. He also will check on the issue of not conforming to Fed regulations.
• NYBS, Bob presented a comment on brake noise issue from dust, dossing valve gasket failure on Cummins; they are checking on this problem and will advise on this at a later date. “Girardin” small bus recall was questioned but no information is available at this time.
• Superior Lubricates, Mark noted that DEF has had a price increase of $.20 per gallon. There is a possible price base oils increase is coming of 30-50 % midsummer.


Round Table:
• Kevin has had a craze of converter thefts off busses cut it off with a saw and is an ongoing issue, and Tom noted that they came in the night and took scrap steel from his compound.
• Don had a “Webasto” heater that was found to be assembled wrong and the nozzle was not in the cone as needed. Causes a nozzle to plug up quickly.
• Dan, mirror lite 5678 and 5679 are the part numbers for the mirrors concave and vex are found to be boxed wrong at the factory, this was found by the company but a few have reached the buying public. Wagner headlights have some of these bulbs found they don’t all fit as needed, if run across this Wagner is covering this problem.
• Harlan noted that he has been having a high failure rate of “Wig Wag” failures, with changing pressure drop action.
