• Summer Seminar; Due to the amount of information on fuels the seminar will have a 2-part presentation for this segment, DOT on accidents and other information. Summer Seminar information has been sent out and mailing will take place soon.
• Sick Call; None reported

• State HMA; Harlan noted that if you have encountered a delay of floor plan approval, you should contact him.

DOT; Mike questioned the “A” service on exhaust wrap reported at the last meeting, he wanted to know were this information was obtained from, Harlan noted that it came from Rusty at DOT headquarters. Mike advised that as of this date he had not received a notification on this and he will get back to us on this subject. Mike also noted that there is a criteria for the reporting of accidents in the regulations please read it and update your self.
* Special Note * Mike has brought it to the attention of those present and would like the HMA membership to be notified of the spring u bolt failure on some replacement u bolts sold or used by “Fulton Spring Service” from late 2005 to present. If you have had spring work done by this company you need to pay special attention to the u-bolt at the bends at the saddle for cracking or complete separation. This is due to a material failure and a couple of districts have had issues with this item. There has been cases of the complete separation of the axle from the bus with extensive damage encountered. Andy Fisher of Newark CSD and Kevin Dattler of Cato-Meridian CSD both have had a issue with this and explained what had happened and the amount damage that was done to their units. Amount of torque of the bolts was addressed and a discussion took place on this very important subject.

Vendor Information;
• Fleet Pride Jeff Jankowski introduced himself and was available for any questions or information.
• John Metzler introduced himself for Matthews Buses.
• Mark Ingham covered some information on Leonard Bus Sales web page and items available on it, i.e. training programs, recalls etc.

Round Table:
• Ron Terry reported the that he has had a experience of someone trying to use weld for repairing a spring guide, it does not work your better off to replace, and also noted a problem with items stored or mounted on or in the area of the dash assembly, suggest that this practice is discontinued.
• Adam reported that the chugging problem he has had with the 2009 international is still present even with the injectors replaced
• Vic noted that the “Specialty” replaced bulb is working well, this was recommended by Liverpool.
• Paul of Onondaga reported a replacement wrap for the exhaust pipe problem, contact him if have any questions.
• Harlan has had an issue with the torque arm movement into the hanger, the mounting bolts need to be loosened and arm moved over, it may not need an alignment. This procedure has been done by Rudy Schmidt Shop.
• Ed noted that BB wiper washer hose has been found to be too long and is wearing a hole in it.

Next meeting will be sponsored by Matthews Buses and is to be held at East Syracuse – Minoa Transportation garage on 14 April 2010.

May meeting at D&W may be a combination meeting with Finger Lakes, Southern and South West chapters if all agree.

Motion made for adjournment of this meeting, seconded, and accepted.

Thanks again to Hunter Engineering for sponsoring this meeting and their support.
