Please get the attendance forms submitted as soon as possible. Del from D&W has requested that if there is any special training material that needs to be covered they should contact Del as soon as possible.
• Sick Call; None reported
• DOT; Bob Carey reported that some Thomas rear engine 05 and 06’s have experienced some problems with a heater control of the front heater, these have had some fires reported. The DOT with the financial problems with the state budget advised that the priority of inspections are as follows, 1st regular scheduled inspections, 2nd re-inspections, and 3rd new unit initial inspection. GPS units & mapping need to be approved by DOT to receive state aid on them. Exhaust wrap defect is to be an “A” defect when found. Discussion took place on this. If there are any questions contact Bob or your inspector.
• State HMA; Harlan reported that the meeting at state level in April, has produced some items of interest, “school bus” signs may be of reflective material if legislation is accepted, Fire Suppression systems will be retro-fit back to on, New system for fire suppression on wheel chair buses has a estimated cost of $1000.00 - $1200.00. Recharge is $40.00 to $800.00. October 2011 3-point seat belts will be required. Discussion on state aid and the costs of school buses, and the cost of options that are ordered. Have a good line of communication with your DOT inspector, if you find yourself with a problem contact Harlan.

Vendor Information;
• Matthews Buses good report and If you need something contact them.
• Leonard Bus Sales, everything is going well, contact them if you need them.
• Bus Parts Warehouse: Mike White introduced himself as the new sales person of the Bus Parts Warehouse organization.

Round Table:
• Wayne of Avoca stated that they have attempted to increase the size of the right front mud flap to protect the exhaust pipe wrap damage.
• Don Brown has attempted to install a metal shield to protect his, it was noted that all add on should be approved.
• Thomas Scott expressed his thanks to Liverpool and Leonard Bus Sales for their assistance with a break down of one their units in the Liverpool area.
• Bob Duquette thanked Ed Hess for the past two years of serving as president of the Central Chapter, everyone gave a round of applause, Bob also noted to Ed that he has a position on the Board of Directors of the HMA
• Board of Directors meeting is to be held on May 25 2010 at Liverpool Transportation center, time is 10:00 am.
• Don Brown noted that he has had an issue on a 06 Uplander dash lights replacement; the whole dash assembly had to be replaced due to unavailable bulbs.
• Keith noted that United Radio repaired a fuel gauge on an Impala dash for $150.00 and a very fast turn around of repair.
• 07 Cummins air compressor failure due to unload valve failed & purge valve too slow and would not build air, worst in cooler weather Intake dirt EGR to intake to compressor possible problem. Had to pump down to get full recycle.
• Bill of Oswego noted that 05, 466, failure of EGR system has caused a turbo failure due to build up of foreign material inside and corroding linkages. Inside replacement parts are available at a lot less cost then replacement turbo. Ford 6 cylinder had problem also. Presented a steering wheel cover of “out of service” units when drivers attempt to use vehicle when down.
• Roger noted that they were very satisfied with the installation and professional job done with the camera installation by Angle Trak.
• Kevin had a 05 DT 466 oil supply hose that had a small leak that created a large mess under the hood, this hose is rated at 5000 psi , he recommended that this hose should be replaced some of the 06’s have them also more info, it was noted that 03 and new are the effected.
• Harlan noted that there will be a Partnership meeting in Albany so anyone that has any concerns should contact him, DOT, DMV, and other are scheduled to attend. This has helped in better inner-commutations between the departments that we work with. Discussion on the problem of one area of the state that has an issue with and the other areas not being informed.

Next meeting is scheduled for Bus Parts Warehouse on October 20, 2010 and email and /or letter will be sent as October approaches.
