Meeting called to order by Vice-president Keith Sutliff

Pledge of Allegiance was suspended due to lack of colors.

*Note due to a timing schedule conflict of the DOT officials attending, this meeting was turned over to Justin Zimmerman and Adam Silverstein at this time to present the Compliance requirements of the state. Justin had covered what was to be expected to take place as this program is implemented from “Attachment-A” of the Performance Based Bus Safety Program, School Bus Operators Compliance Review.
• Driver Qualifications:
• Drug/Alcohol Testing Program
• Maintenance Program
• Random Compliance Review Inspection
• Accident Register
Justin and Adam, with some input from Mike Nuber the program was explained in some detail on what is to be expected if and when you may encounter this inspection.
The question and answers that were presented did offer some unknown facts and cleared up some questioned areas of the program. The 45 minute presentation was well received with many questions and input of ideas from the members present.
The Central Chapter NYHMA wishes to thank them for presenting this information and answering the questions presented, everyone left with good information.

Reading of the minutes of the Central Chapter, February 19, 2014 meeting were presented for approval. Motion made to accept as read, seconded, and accepted.

Treasures report submitted and read for approval by Treasurer Dan Elderbroom,
Motion made to accept as read, seconded, and accepted. Copy is on file with secretary.

Old Business;
• Last of the Comfort Bears have been distributed and we had received a letter of thanks from some of recipients, that was read aloud by Treasure Dan Elderbroom.
• Two quotes have been received for the proposed NYHMA Phone book, the quotes will be held by the secretary until a total count of School Districts is received. There were also two more possible printing companies that could accomplish this request of printing. The response from the email request for data has been very slow, if you plan to be included in this printing please respond with the requested data. If have not received this request contact George Toper at East Syracuse Minoa CSD or Dan Elderbroom at Liverpool CSD.

New Business; None reported

• WEB Page: No Issues stated
• Summer Seminar: Dan Elderbroom reported that all but 2 Vendor tables have been accounted for at this time. The attendee’s registration form is to be sent soon, it is requested that these be filled in and returned as soon as possible as there is a maximum number of 500 that will be able to be seated for the dinner. The new registration form is requesting further information on other items so please read carefully, Contact Dan Elderbroom at Liverpool for any questions.
• Sick Call; None reported
• State HMA; there was no report from Mike at this meeting. There is scheduled Board of Directors meeting to be held on May 22, 2014 at Liverpool CSD planned time of 9:30 at their Transportation Department meeting room second floor. All board members and committee members are requested to attend.

• Mike Nuber reported on the six month cycle for DOT inspections is coming up and that with this the type of inspection will have an order to follow.
• If your district can not present a bus for inspection as scheduled it requested that the unit moved up is for the same type inspection i.e. critical, full.

Vendor Information:
• Shelle of Bus Parts Warehouse, they now offer a new pump system for DEF, the web site is progressing well and will be in full operation soon, if you are interested in helping to fine tune this program by using it please contact Bus Parts Warehouse.
• John Johnson NYBS, Vision with “Coolant not coming to temperature” is being rectified through Cummins and an update is expected soon. John noted that they have a “Demo unit with Air Disc Brakes” for your inspection.
• Matthews Buses has made forward movements with their new facility in Liverpool and expect to be in place mid-April.
• Leonard Bus Sales, Rob 2013 Emission update for DT466 OBD & non-OBD is now available, contact him for further information. There is a new “Winter Front” now available for IC’s that wrap around to bottom of bumper, contact Leonard Buses for further details.

Round Table:
• Harlan noted loosing coolant on a unit and found that the heater lines to the DEF reserve tank were leaking at a cross member chafing thru of hose.
• Keith found FS65 unit that was about 7 years old that did not have heat at the step well heater, with further investigation he found out that the factory plugs to the core were not remove and had blocked water movement since the build date.
• Discussion on the amount of corrosion that would affect the structural integrity of buses that would create a DOT failure.
• Due to some technical issues the complete round table discussion was not understandable and was not recorded for this section.
