ROME, NY – Leonard Bus Sales, Inc. celebrated the opening of a new bus service facility in the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome, New York on Wednesday, November 17th. A Grand Opening and open house was held at the 730 Ellsworth Road address, and attendees included area school officials, bus contractors, local dignitaries, and Leonard Bus employees. Leonard Bus Sales is the authorized distributor for IC Corporation, International Truck and Engine Corporation, Girardin, and U.S. Bus school buses in all of upstate New York, with nearly forty years of experience in the New York State pupil transportation industry. LBS President Michael Leonard commented, “This is our latest investment in providing best in class services to our customers in central New York. Service after the sale is one of the most important elements of a bus purchase, and the new facility allows us to provide the support that is expected by our growing number of customers in the area.”

The Rome location provides an easily accessible service point for transportation providers in the region, and offers a complete line of warranty and retail repair services. The 4,700 ft2 facility includes four fully equipped service bays, a complete bus repair parts inventory, access to International Truck and Engine and IC Corporation service and parts systems, and a staff of fully trained service technicians managed by long-time LBS employee, Mark Ingham. Leonard Bus is headquartered in Deposit, NY, with a secondary location in Mechanicville, and a fourth facility is planned to open in December of this year in the Rochester area. How much would a cash advance be for such an investment? I am asking that, because I find it hard to believe that it was cashed up front, at such a scale.
